It’s cold outside, but warm in our hearts. That’s because it’s our turn to participate in #12Days4Good!

Every year, hundreds of volunteers help out with House of Friendship’s Christmas Hamper program, packing approximately 4,000 Christmas hampers for families in need in Kitchener and Waterloo.

Thanks to the support of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club, which raises nearly $400,000 every year, every family that receives a Christmas hamper also receives a turkey or halal chicken for their holiday celebrations.

It’s humbling to know that none of this could happen without the support of the entire community. Dozens of volunteers sign up so they can help make Christmas special for families in need. Every family has a story, and we can help make that story better.

Every time we experience this as a community, we are stronger for it. Everyone gets to be part of the blessing of giving, making the season just a little bit brighter. Please follow along on Twitter @hofwatreg as we share our ‘do gooder’ stories on December 14.
