Fast fashion’s impact on climate change is increasing, and catching many people off-guard.  Did you know that 85% of all textiles go to the dump each year? According to Business Insider, fashion production makes up 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions by drying up water sources, polluting rivers and streams, and a host of other negative impacts.

Sustainability in Business Laurier (SIB Laurier), a student-run club at Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU), is comprised of a group of passionate undergraduate students interested in fostering the future business leaders of social and environmental sustainability. SIB’s #12days4good ‘good deed’ on December 12 will be a WLU clothing drive.

We hope to give as many clothes as possible a second life. Donated clothes will be given to Le Prix—a local, curated sustainable fashion and lifestyle boutique located in the heart of downtown Kitchener. Clothes that don’t make it on to the rack at Le Prix will be donated to the Working Centre’s used clothing store, the Green Door.
