Today, to conclude #12days4good, we’re visiting select, local organizations to share the exciting news that they will be receiving a 2020 Kindred Charitable Fund grant.

The Kindred Charitable Fund is an endowment that offers annual project grants to churches and charitable organizations. The fund was established in 1999 with an initial endowment of $360,000, which was managed by Abundance Canada. Since its inception, the endowment has distributed over $1,100,000 to 149 churches and charities in our communities.

To ensure the fund’s long-term growth, Kindred donates 1% of pre-tax earnings each year to the principal endowment. The funds available for distribution every year are made up of interest earned on the endowment and a Kindred donation based on members’ usage of Kindred Mastercard® credit cards. Members and friends of Kindred can also support the fund with tax-deductible donations.

Each year, projects are selected from many submissions that help support our purpose to connect values and faith with finances, inspiring peaceful, just, and prosperous communities.

We’re looking forward to seeing the impact that this year’s Kindred Charitable Fund grant recipients will have in our communities.
